Free - planned Cesarean Birth Antenatal course

This course is specifically designed for families who know that they will be giving birth via planned Cesarean Section.
In general, antenatal classes spend a lot of time discussing topics applicable to vaginal birth, such as: optimal fetal positioning, movement and positioning for labour, the stages of labour & birth, the third stage, self help, induction of labour, assisted vaginal birth, emergency C/S and pain management options.
This adds up to over two hours of material that is not applicable to a family who are having a planned CS.
Hours of time that can be used to talk about what actually matters to your situation.
This class designed to focus on topics relating to your planned cesarean birth, your recovery, managing a newborn whilst recovering, and common challenges you may face in the postnatal period.
Held over one full day 9am - 5pm in Meadowbank.
Includes 2 x 15 min breaks and 1 hour for lunch to relax and get to know the other participants.
Topics only relavent to Cesarean births covered.
Class made up of discussions, small group work and demonstrations.
Best attended 25 + weeks of pregnancy.
Includes email prior to class with pre-reading to introduce the topics that will be discussed
Includes an emailed detailed summary of what was discussed.
Coffee group/ support/ social group discussed and set up
Class numbers are capped at 12 pregnant individuals + support person.
