After all - it's your belly, your birth & your baby
How long is a course? It depends which course you want to book into! The one day saturday class is 8 hours total over one full day, the 6 week comprehensive is a little over 12 hours total spread over 6 weeks. All first aid/CPR classes are 2 hours.
Can I bring my partner? Yes - please do!!! Everyone is encouraged to bring a support person with them. This may be their partner, their mum, a friend etc. If you would like to bring more than one support person, check in with me first, some locations have limited space available.
If I attend alone, is the cost reduced? For the CPR course, yes as it is a per person cost. For any antenatal classes, no as the fee covers your place, the venue hire etc.
I have other children, can they come? Usually the answer is yes, however - think to yourself; are they going to distract you or others? Are the topics discussed going to cause upset? Generally for a 2hr CPR class it is not a problem, but for a full day course, it may be a little long.
I have a high risk pregnancy, will you cover that? Yes, and no. Lots of different things can add up to make a high risk pregnancy, so while we may discuss parts, we may not go through your entire situation.
Do you only talk about natural birth? Absolutely not. We discuss natural, induced, assisted and CSection births all in equal measure.
Is baby care covered? Yes! Roughly half the course is spent discussing postnatal topics like mental health, recovery and baby care.
How many people are in a course? Maximum numbers are 22 (11 couples) and minimum numbers are 8 (4 couples). Usually on average, my classes have 16 people in them.
Do you show a birth video? LOL, no.
I cannot attend the whole course, will there be a discount, and will I get all the summaries? This will need to be on a case by case basis, email me and we will talk it through.
Is there always a guest speaker? I try very hard to ensure that we do have a guest in every class, but it is not always possible. Ideally we have a Pelvic Floor Physio come visit, along with a couple who had a natural birth, a couple who had a CSection, and a car seat safety technician. Their attendance is subject to their availablilty, illness etc.
